Carole Elizabeth Lang, 78, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away suddenly on January 27, 2019 at Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, PA.
Born July 22, 1940 in Youngstown Ohio, she was the daughter of James and Georgia (Lookabaugh) Eckman.
She was preceded in death on August 4, 2013 by her husband of 47 years, Georg Lang.
Carole was a homemaker and active member of the Ladies Branch of the Eintracht Singing Society. She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in New Castle. In recent years, she became a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Murrysville where she was involved with the greeting card ministry, VBS, the hospitality committee, and attended Ladies Bible Study. She also volunteered at the Sonshine Kitchen in McKeesport and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially the grandkids.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Timothy) Birus of Irwin, PA and her son Georg M. (Kimberly) Lang of Lancaster, Ohio and five grandchildren: Sam and Maggie Birus, and Matthew, Abbie and Lukas Lang. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters: William Eckman of Windham Ohio, Gloria Herr of Avon Lake, Ohio, Roberta Bartlett of Moneta, Virginia, David Eckman of Wesson, Mississippi, and Johnathan Eckman of Moneta, Virginia. One brother, James Eckman and one sister, Judy Strohm, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm and Saturday from 10:00-11:00am at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation on Saturday at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor David Weeks of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Castle View Gardens.
