Carole J. Schell, 82, of New Castle, passed away the evening of November 8, 2021, at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born August 14, 1939, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Robert G. and Irene P. (Jackson) Gibson. She and her beloved husband, Henry H. Schell, recently celebrated 60 years of marriage on October 14. Carole was a homemaker and attended Pulaski Presbyterian Church. She was active with the United Methodist Women and a member of Wimodausis. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Organ of Wampum; one son, Robert C. (Joyce) Schell of Valencia, PA; two sisters, Marjorie Wilson of New Wilmington and Roberta Reider of New Castle; five grandchildren, Anna Organ (Dan Walko), Jonathan Organ (Brooklynn), Raelyn Organ, Justin Schell and Daniel Schell; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Organ and Evalynn Organ. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Patricia Sumner. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 7:00 at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Knechtel of Pulaski Presbyterian Church and Rev. Jodie Barron Smith, a District Superintendent of the United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Castle View Cemetery.
