Carolyn J. Hilton, formerly of New Castle, PA, passed away July 26, 2020, in Inman, South Carolina. Born May 31, 1931, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late Edwin Lester and Audrey Gula (Leicht) Anderson. In 1967, she married her beloved husband of 51 years, James Hilton, Jr. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2018. Carolyn was a graduate of Shenango High School. She was the owner and broker of a real estate company, for several years. Carolyn enjoyed dancing and swimming. What gave Carolyn the most joy in life, was spending time with her family. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. Carolyn is survived by her children, Ember (Ben) McCracken of Spartanburg, SC, Lester (Linda) McCracken of Edinboro, PA, James (Rebecca) Hilton, III and Clement J. Hilton, both of New Castle, PA, daughter-in-law, Karen Hilton; 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and one sister Cherie (Jim) Bluedorn. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two sons, Gary, and Eugene Hilton and two daughters-in-law, Bette Hilton, and Susan Harding. A private service will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Those in attendance are asked to adhere to the CDC guidelines regarding wearing face masks and practicing social distancing. Lester McCracken will be officiating.
