Carolyn Mae Young McCampbell peacefully went into the arms of her Heavenly Father at 6:54 p.m. on November 10, 2021, at the Masonic Villages in Sewickley, PA. She was born May 2, 1926, to Philip and Helen Tinsley Young in Greensburg, PA. On August 12, 1949, she married her beloved husband, Roy L. McCampbell. They spent almost 69 years together until his death on June 27, 2018. Carolyn was always very active in her church and the church choir wherever she and Roy lived. She was an active member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church since moving to New Castle in 1961. They lived in Greensburg, PA, Westminster, MD, Hickory and King, NC. Additionally, she previously lived at the Masonic Villages in Elizabethtown, PA. She volunteered at the Red Cross, the 1973 Boy Scout Jamboree held at Moraine State Park, and Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church's "Caring Friends". She worked at the Lawrence County Common Pleas Court in the Court Administrator's office for President Judge Glenn McCracken. In 1989, she was presented with a Citizen's Award at a luncheon of the Governor's Highway Safety Conference held in Harrisburg. She was honored for her work with Drug and Alcohol Community Treatment Services, Inc. and was a member of the agency's Advisory Board in which she was nominated for this award. Carolyn was a social butterfly and enjoyed time spent with her friends and family over luncheons, dinners, parties, and all holidays. She and Roy travelled over most of America and several times to Scotland and England. They especially enjoyed spending the winters in Key West, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy, son Mac, parents, and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (William S.) Ferrucci, Jr. of Greensboro, NC, Debbie (Robert A.) Masters of New Castle, granddaughter Kristen A. (Barrett) Plasman of Greensboro, NC, grandson Daniel S. (John) Ferrucci of Washington, D.C., and four great-grandchildren, Sam, Sophia, Will, and Charlie. In keeping with her wishes the service is private. Burial will be at Castle View Cemetery.
