Carolyn Louise Spiker, age 89, of New Castle, passed away the night of July 21, 2024, at Quality Life Services, New Castle.

Born February 24, 1935, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Orville Perry Grossman and Loney Mae (Canada) Grossman.

She was preceded in death on February 28, 2021, by her husband of 64 years, Harry Alton Spiker, whom she married June 23, 1956.

Carolyn was a homemaker, taking care of her five children. She was a member of Paws and Taws Square Dance Club and also the American Kennel Club. Reading and jigsaw puzzles were among her varied interests. She attended Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Ann (Thomas) Poulton of Westerville, OH; two sons, Richard Alan Spiker of New Castle and Harry Alton (Kristin) Spiker, Jr. of Oakland, MD; two brothers, Thomas John Grossman and James Edward Grossman; two sisters, Doris Mae Grossman and Frances Jo Grossman; and four grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Marcia Lynne Spiker and Arleigh Joan Spiker and one brother, Ronald Perry Grossman.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Michael Spicuzza officiating. Carolyn will be laid to rest beside her husband in Graceland Cemetery.
