Cerelena Werhnyak, 88, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of October 10, 2014 at her residence.Born June 20, 1926 in Sharon, Pa., she was a daughter of William and Elsie Gallagher Craig.She was preceded in death by both husbands, Grover Robert Welsh, and Frank J. Werhnyak.Cerelena attended Slippery Rock College, and was the manager of the drapery department of Troutman's Department Store. In addition to being a member and lodge rep for SNPJ, she also was their insurance sales agent.Cerelena was active with the Navy Mothers Group.An active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, she attended the Good Shepherd Senior Group.Cerelena is survived by one son, Grover Welsh of New Castle; a step-son, Randall Werhnyak, Jr. of Butler, Pa; a step-daughter, Renee (Gary) Latonen of New Castle; one brother, Gerald (Linda) Craig of New Castle; one sister, Bea Callahan of New Castle; a sister-in-law, Edna Craig; one granddaughter, Amber Latonen; two step grandsons, Christopher Werhnyak and Randall Werhnyak; a niece, Sharon (Joe) Zudnick; and a great niece, Shara Zudnick.In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, William Craig; and a brother-in-law, John Callahan.Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Rev.
