Rev. Charles E. Baker Jr., 67, of Beachgrove Drive, Erie, PA, passed away the evening of December 14, 2010 in his home, while surrounded by his family.Born on September 18, 1943 in New Castle, he was a son of Charles E. and Lydia L. Hetrick Baker. He married Ruth M. Delp Baker on June 19, 1965. She survives in Erie, PA. Charles attended Transylvania Bible School, Huntington College, and Circleville Bible College. He served as Pastor with the United Brethren In Christ Church for seven years and with the Free Methodist Church for thirty-seven years.Charles was a member of Keystone Free Methodist Conference. He enjoyed playing games with his family and collecting elephants.In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Lydia L. and John McFadden, of Franklin, PA and Betsy R. Baker, of McPherson, KS; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Faith Baker III, of Jamestown, NY; two sisters, Emmajean Evans, of New Castle, and Margaret Cannon, of Tecumseh, MI; three grandchildren, Caleb, Courtney, and Joshua; two step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2010, at Bethel United Brethren Church, 1807 Stanton Avenue.A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m at the church.The funeral service will be officiated by Rev. Dan Owens, Rev. Dayle Keefer, Rev. William Shaw, Rev. Dennis Kelley and Rev. Jeff Johnson.
