Charles E. "Butch" Burkhouse, 66, of New Castle, passed away the morning of September 12, 2015 at Northlake Methodist Hospital in Gary, Indiana. Born April 11, 1949 in Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of Walter and Mary Sheilds Burkhouse. Surviving at home is his wife, Evelynn "Lynn" Proctor Burkhouse, whom he married August 30, 1997. A 1967 graduate of Mohawk High School, Butch served his country in the US Navy on board the USS Kennedy. He was an Account Manager at Opta Minerals for 26 years. Among his many interests, Butch enjoyed hunting, fishing, computers, camping trips, and the outdoors. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren and his family, who he loved very much. He attended New Life Baptist Church. In addition to his wife Lynn, Butch is survived by 2 daughters, Kimberly Drummonds of Atlanta, GA, and Kelley (Craig Blews) Burkhouse of Aliquippa, PA.; one step-daughter, Amber (David) Koski of New Castle; 2 step-grandchildren, Landon and Ava Koski. He was preceded in death by his mother; and one brother, William Burkhouse. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Rd. A funeral service with military rites will take place immediately following visitation on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Ron Nagel officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
