Charles Kenneth Byler, 90, of New Castle, passed away January 11, 2013 at the Haven Convalescent Home. Born March 25, 1922, in New Castle, he was a son of Charles J. Byler and Evangeline I. McQuiston Byler. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Margaret Duvall-Byler; children, Kenneth Byler, Charles Byler, Charlene Gill, Sally McIlwain and Donna Grundy; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Charles attended New Castle High School and served with the CCC and the Army during WWII.He was a 32nd degree Mason at the New Castle Lodge and served as Chaplain for 30 years. As a member of Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church, he belonged to the Irvine Class and Prime Timers. He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Luella Proffit Byler. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
