Charles "Chad" Crawford Lewis, age 73, of New Castle, passed away Dec. 11, 2024, at VA Pittsburgh Healthcare, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born March 23, 1951, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Charles Christopher and Charlotte Mae (Conaway) Lewis.

Chad was a graduate of Ne-Ca-Hi, class of 1969. He served in the United States Air Force as a part of the Security Group. For several years, Chad was employed as a steamfitter, belonging to the Plumber and Steamfitters Union. He enjoyed golf, watching sports, coaching, and going out to eat at restaurants. He was a longtime member of the Masons. Chad treasured the times he was able to spend with his family and grandkids. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include his four children, Kathy Lewis of New Castle, PA, Charles Craig (Jennifer) Lewis of New Wilmington, PA, Kim Lewis-Wheeler of Butler, PA, and Mark Lewis of Pulaski, PA; three siblings, Cheryl Grotefend and Coleen Lewis, both of Powell, WY, and Chris Lewis of New Castle, PA; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Chad was preceded in death by a sister, Cynthia Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 16th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.

A funeral service will be held on Tues. Dec. 17th, at the funeral home, at 11:00 AM with the New Castle Area Honor Guard performing military honors, and Pastor Jordan Rimmer, of Northminster Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Park Cemetery.
