Charles D. Cyrus, 65, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of January 12, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family. Born July 28, 1954 in East Palestine, Ohio, he was the son of Charles L. and Wilma (Saviors) Cyrus. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kimberly (McFarland) Cyrus, whom he married February 6, 1982. A graduate of East Palestine High School, Mr. Cyrus was employed for 35 years as a stone cutter for Ranier DeVido Stone Company in New Castle. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and boating. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He attended New Life Baptist Church in New Wilmington. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Karlie J. (John) Jackson of New Castle; four sons, Brandon (Grace) Cyrus of Mesa, Arizona, Blake (Carla) Cyrus of Pittsburgh, Zachary (Laura) Cyrus of West Middlesex, PA, and Casey (Chelsea) Cyrus of Statesboro, Georgia; one sister, Barbara Greaves of East Palestine, Ohio; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lee Cyrus. There will be a one hour visitation on Friday, January 17, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A Memorial Service will take place at 5:00 with the Rev. Ron Nagel officiating.
