Charles E. Patterson, 90, of Neshannock Township, passed away the night of September 6, 2018 at Clen-Moore Place in New Castle. Born January 22, 1928 in New Castle, he was the son of James N. and Gladys (Carr) Patterson. He was preceded in death on May 27, 2002 by his wife of 51 years, Beverly J. (Hennon) Patterson, whom he married September 15, 1950. Mr. Patterson served in the U.S. Navy from 1946-1948. He was the owner of New Castle Auto Parts and was a member of the Masons Mahoning Lodge No.243 where he served as Past Master. Charles enjoyed working around his home and was able to fix anything and everything. He liked photography and enjoyed taking pictures. He attended Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church. He is survived by one daughter, Joyce (Ronald) Cirelli of Ellwood City; one son, David (Deborah) Patterson of Oakmont, PA; one sister, Donna J. Fleissner of New Castle; three grandchildren, Brian Cirelli, Andrew Cirelli and Jeffrey Patterson; two great-grandsons, Camron Cirelli and Trevor Cirelli and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Cirelli. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Beatty officiating. Burial will be in Eastbrook Presbyterian Cemetery.
