Charlotte "Char" J. Garberry, 84, of Union Township passed from her earthly life January 23, 2021 at her beloved home with family by her side after a well lived, giving and loving life. She will be deeply missed by her family and by those whose lives she touched. Born in Mahoningtown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Hayes. Charlotte graduated from New Castle High in 1954 and married the late Louis A. Garberry, Jr. in 1957. Lou and Char had a long loving marriage of 58 years until Lou's death in 2014. Charlotte was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother first and foremost. She treasured her family and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as "Memaw". Charlotte embraced life, liked to have fun and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed homemaking, (a true domestic goddess) reading, dancing, music, gardening, canning and of course shopping. She loved to socialize and entertain. She cooked wonderful Italian dishes and comfort food. Charlotte took vacations with her husband and enjoyed trips to Colorado, Florida and Texas to visit family. Many here on earth considered Charlotte an angel way before she received her official "wings". She was always there with a kind word or deed. Charlotte was everyone's favorite aunt, friend, cousin and neighbor. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by surviving family and friends; daughter Rosanne Pancoe; son Walter Garberry; 4 grandchildren, Tod, Dylan, Andre and Lyndi; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters JoAnn and Nancy; best friend Cookie, Dean, the Pancoe family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was also preceded in death by son Louis A. Garberry, III, sister Marilyn and brother Frank. A private Memorial Celebration of Life will be conducted Saturday, February 6, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
