Charlotte R. Whiteman, 97, formerly of Hazelcroft Avenue, passed away the morning of June 21, 2017 at Heritage Valley Hospice Facility in Boardman, Ohio
Born August 25, 1919 in New Castle, she was the daughter of John H. and Nana Mae Junkin Whiteman.
A 1937 graduate of New Castle High School, Charlotte was employed as the chief operator of Bell Telephone Company for 47 years until her retirement in 1984.
She enjoyed bowling and was an avid golfer, playing in various bowling and golf leagues. She treasured her family tremendously and loved traveling. Charlotte was a loving sister and aunt.
A member of Epworth Methodist Church, Charlotte was also a long-time member of Prime Timers.
She is survived by a niece, Mary Beth Whiteman Macri and her husband Richard of New Castle; a sister-in-law Annetta Whiteman; and two nieces and a nephew all of California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John A. Whiteman and Wilbur F. Whiteman, and her companion, Carl O. Keagy.
Visitation will be held for one hour on Saturday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A service will take place immediately following visitation at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
