Obituary

Cheryl A. Currie, 59, of 115 Oakwood Avenue, passed away at her residence the morning of December 29, 2012. Born April 3, 1953, in New Castle, she was a daughter of George W. Lusk, Jr. and Elsie Jean Proctor Lusk. She is survived by her husband, Eugene R. Currie, whom she married on August 24, 1973. She was a 1971 graduate of Neshannock High School and a graduate of the New Castle Business College. Cheryl was self employed in the field of accounting, auditing and tax preparation as the manager with George W. Lusk, Jr. and Associates. She was a member of Wimodausis, Order of the White Shrine and Order of Eastern Star #105. She served as past Mother Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow Girls where she was later an Advisory Board member. She was also a member of the American Business Women's Association. Cheryl valued family time and treasured the time she spent with her grandsons, Nathan and Jacob, the most. Among her other interests were camping, fishing and boating. She was a member of the Independent Methodist Church, and because of her love for crafts, she enjoyed decorating the church, especially for the holidays. She also attended First Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and her two grandsons, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine L. and Shawn Rynd, of New Castle; two brothers, William F. Lusk of Austintown, OH, and Robert D. (Meda) Lusk of Dunedin, FL; and four sisters, Carol J. (Roy) Jones, Mary A. Kirkwood, Georgia D. Lusk and April A. (Michael) Monstwil, all of New Castle. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. John Yergan and The Rev. Frederick H. Gilbert will officiate. Burial will be in Castle View Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.
