Christian B. Crawford, Jr., 66, of Carriage Court Personal Care, Ellwood Road, New Castle, passed away the morning of November 7, 2012 at Jameson Hospital.Born April 17, 1946, in Lawrenceville, PA, he was a son of Christian B. Crawford, Sr. and Ida Jane Davis Crawford. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Joyce Crawford. Christian was a graduate of Laurel High School and the New Castle School of Trades, where he received his degree in welding. He recently retired from Trinity Industries in Greenville where he was a welder and a painter. Prior, he was employed with U.S. Steel in Ambridge. Christian was a self employed landscaper and an avid fisherman. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Penny Crawford of New Castle and Michael and Corrina Crawford of New Wilmington; one brother, Edwin Crawford of New Castle; one sister, Joan Aller of Hookstown, PA; and five grandchildren, Alyssa Crawford and her fiance Nathaniel Miller, Ashlee Crawford, Alexis Crawford, Gary Crawford, Jr., and Makenzie Crawford. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will follow visitation at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Matthew Bupp of Celtic Hospice will officiate.
