Christopher Verone, 58, of New Castle, passed away on February 4, 2018 at UPMC Jameson Hospital. Born September 15, 1959 in New Castle, he was the son of Larry and Janet Verone. He attended Neshannock High School and ran Cross-Country in senior high. A Penn State graduate, Chris worked in sales with several major companies, including Black & Decker, Stanley Hardware and Rubbermaid, where he was named national Salesman of the Year. His career took him all around the United States, allowing him to visit many national parks and to see America. One employer, Wang Lighting, sent him to China on business, where he was able to travel to Beijing and to see the Great Wall of China and the Terra Cotta Warriors. His most recent employment was in inside sales for Portersville PRD. Chris loved the outdoors and was never happier than when exploring the woods behind the family home in Neshannock Township. He was a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Football. Chris is survived by his mother Janet, sister Amy, and brother Michael. He was preceded in death by his father Larry. The family wishes to thank all of the medical staff who worked with Chris over the last year, especially the nurses and aides at Jameson Hospital, and appreciates all the support from the folks at Portersville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A Memorial service will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
