Clara Ann Bratschie Salzman, 82, of New Castle, passed away the morning of January 28, 2016 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born July 4, 1933, in New Castle, she was a daughter of Arthur and Margretta Stotler Bratschie. She was a 1951 graduate of New Castle High School and a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church. She was married to William "Bill" Salzman, who preceded her in death on July 27, 2014. They were the first couple to be married in Northminster Church. Clara was employed as a secretary with Golf Car Supply. Prior to that she was a secretary with Crestview Gardens, Neshannock and New Castle school systems. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, camping, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Clara was a member of the Eastern Star and Mother Advisor of the Rainbow Assembly #1. She was also a member of the Jameson Junior Guild. She is survived by two daughters, Cynthia (Casey) Konchar of Chesterton, IN and Marcy (Chris) Williams of New Castle; two sons, Scott (Melanie) Salzman of Mooresville, NC and Bradley (Janey) Salzman of Farmington, NM; two sisters, Lois Kulsic of New Castle, and Ardith Jones of Burlington, VT; Eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Robby Green. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5:00—8:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00—11:00 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Andrew Jillson officiating.
