Clarence W. McCormick, 75, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of April 4, 2013 at his residence. Born Feb. 20, 1938 in New Castle, he was the son of Walter J. and Margaret I. Gillespie McCormick. Clarence married Katherine Hoplight on Sept. 14, 1957. She survives. He attended New Castle High School. Clarence was a bus driver for George Ku, then worked at Agway, and retired from the Neshannock Township road department. He then worked at Windel Dental Laboratory. An avid Nascar fan, he was also a member of the Neshannock Volunteer Fire Department for over 50 years. Clarence was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. In addition to his wife, survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Barbara L. and Brad McEwen, of New Wilmington, Susan K. Phipps of New Castle, and Janice E. and Mark Russo of New Castle; two sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence W. McCormick, Jr. and Joan, and Theodore L. McCormick and Ellen, both of New Castle; nine grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister. Visitation will be Saturday, April 6, 2013, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Rev. Andrew Jillson will officiate. The Neshannock Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a service Saturday at 12:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2434 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
