Clark Douglas McCurdy, age 81, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away the morning of January 17, 2026, at his residence in Winchester, VA.
Born December 12, 1944, he was the son of Clark Vincent McCurdy and Margaret Rebecca (Shoop) Perry.
A 1963 graduate of New Castle High School, he attended the University of Mississippi and Northern Virginia Community College.
Mr. McCurdy served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1967 at the Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS.
He was employed by the District of Columbia Government, the U.S. Army at the Pentagon and Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In 2007 he retired from the Arlington County Government in Virginia as a Subdivision Plat Examiner with the Dept. of Environmental Services.
Among his many interests, Clark enjoyed reading the Bible, Greek philosophy, Ancient Greek numismatics, Republican politics and geology. He also liked cooking, was a wine enthusiast, things Scottish, bonsai, Kabuki theatre and going to art museums and viewing art. He especially enjoyed Italian Renaissance Art and Ancient Greek Art. He had poetry published in four anthologies.
He is survived by his sister, Marian Badger; nieces, Teri Cummins, Joni Cummins, Julie Colatruglio and Brenda Burns.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Ann Cummins.
There will be a one-hour visitation Thursday, January 22, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 2601 Highland Avenue, New Castle, PA.
A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. David A. Snyder officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in New Castle.
Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
