Claude R. Stewart of New Castle passed away February 20, 2022, at the age of 97. He was born in Rimersburg, PA on March 19, 1924, and was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, E. Irene Stewart, three brothers and one sister, Janet Kerr, and son, David. After serving in World War ll, he pursued a 39-year career in teaching Industrial Arts with 29 years at Neshannock High School. He was a member of the Northminster Presbyterian Church and was formerly active with Paws and Taws Square Dancing, Prime Timers Bible Study and Challenges. He is survived by his daughters, Rev. Kathy (Ronald) Murder of Winston-Salem, NC., Barbara (David) Rutter of Tucson, AZ, and son, Mark (Debbie) Stewart of Forest Hill, MD, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his companion of 15 years, Marjorie Armstrong of New Castle. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the R.
