Obituary

Clayton Hogue, 83, of New Castle, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 11, 2013. He was a devoted husband, married to his wife Marilyn for 65 years. He married the former Marilyn Aller on December 1, 1949. He was known by all to be a quiet, humble man, and to see and talk with him was to see his Saviour Jesus in all he did. He was a Godly example to his four children and their families. Born May 25, 1930 in New Castle, he was the son of Reid Hogue and Beulah Houk Hogue Bosmyer. Clayton attended Shenango High School. He was a carpenter by trade. He loved working with his children, others, and his church. Clayton was a member of Faith Country Chapel, serving his church as a former trustee, deacon, official board member, and a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his four children, Larry (Linda) Hogue, Terry (Nancy) Hogue, Tami (Denny) Anderson, all of New Castle, and Randy (Barb) Hogue of Monroe, NC. He has six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Knox; one grandson, Lance, and one other infant grandchild; and one great grandchild. Visitation will be Wednesday,August 14, 2013, 5-9 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will be held Thursday, August 15, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Steve Miller and The Rev. Russ Van Nest will officiate. Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Country Chapel, 3818 Old Butler Road, New Castle, PA 16101 or Jameson Hospice of Lawrence County, 1211 Wilmington Avenue, New Castle, PA 16105.
