Clinton E. Runyan, age 75, of New Castle, passed away the evening of May 31, 2022, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Born May 18, 1947, in Harwick, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Verna (Parker) Runyan. For 42 years, he was married to Sharon (Ealy) Runyan. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2017. Clinton faithfully served his country, in the United States Army, where he completed two tours during Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star. He was the past district #25 Commander and past Commander of post #267 and Jr. Vice Commander of post #315. He was a member of the Amvets, Trustee of American Legion #343, and the New Castle Area Honor Guard. He was employed as a machinist/laborer, at Hussey Copper, until his retirement. He attended Lighthouse Baptist Church, where he was baptized on July 26, 2020. What gave Clinton the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. Survivors include one daughter, Christine (Russell) Sager of New Castle, PA; one son, Kevin (Michelle) Runyan of TN; one brother, Joseph (Barbara) Runyan; brother-in-law, Vince Santell; eleven sisters, Sandra (Joseph) Cerne, Beverley (Ronny) Runyan, Edna Kloss, Yvonne McCracken, Bernice Ziegler, Marsha (Gary) Bailey, Diane (David) Jennings, Tammy Biggart, Marylou (Steve) Valenzuela, Trina (Geno) Dillon, and Renee (Dave) Ricks; sister-in-law, Audrey Runyan; two grandchildren, James and Tyler Sager; and one great granddaughter, Rylie Reed. In addition to his wife and parents, Clinton was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Donald 'Mac' Runyan, his twin brother, Clayton Runyan, one sister, Shirley Santell, and granddaughter, Brittany Little. Visitation will be held on Friday June 3rd from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will follow immediately at 6:00 PM with Rev. Greg Simpson, of Lighthouse Baptist Church officiating, and the New Castle Area Honor Guard, performing Military Rites.
