Clyde Raymond Stewart, age 79, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Friday, January 13, 2023, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born November 24, 1943, in New Castle, he was the son of Samuel and Florence (Gilson) Stewart.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Harris) Stewart, whom he married August 1, 1964.

Clyde attended Shenango High School and was employed with the Union Area School District for 21 years as a maintenance worker until his retirement.

Clyde loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping and hunting at his hunting camp and also going to the beach. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Jaworsky of New Castle; three sons, Ray (Kim) Stewart, Dave Stewart and Richard (Karen) Stewart, all of New Castle; and five grandchildren, RJ Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Ryan Stewart, Tanner Stewart and Marina Stewart.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Art, Sam and Elmer Stewart; and three sisters, Mattie Peterson, Blanche James and Dorothy Hollencamp.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Chuck Fombelle officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
