Colleen J. Stelter, 91, formerly of E. Fairfield Avenue, passed away the evening of December 1, 2015 at Avalon Nursing Center. Born June 13, 1924 in New Castle, she was a daughter of Clarence F. and Twila F. McClelland Miller. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles O. Polen. She subsequently married Norman Stelter, whom also preceded her in death. Colleen was the co-owner of a cabinetry making company. She was a member of New Covenant Evangelical Presbyterian Church and enjoyed attending the Prime Timers Bible study at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Betty Polen of New Castle; three step-daughters, Barbara (Jim) Allen of Wampum, Nancy (Ken) Howard of New Springfield, Ohio, and Susan (Ralph) Deal of New Castle; and two brothers-in-law, Glenn Spaulding of New Castle, and Chuck (Martha) Stelter of Wampum. In addition to both husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Lou Spaulding. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00-6:00 p.m at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Jim Allen officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
