Connor M. Collins, 22, of Volant, passed away the afternoon of July 24, 2021 at Alleghany General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Connor was born on February 11, 1999, in New Castle, to Kevin Scott Collins and Leah Fennick Purnell. They survive him along with his stepmother, Heather A. Collins and stepfather, Gregory J. Purnell. He was a 2017 graduate of Hampton High School and would have completed the heavy equipment operator apprentice program later this summer. He was a member of the heavy equipment operator union Local #66 and employed as an operator with Baldwin Asphalt Company. Connor enjoyed his camp in Tionesta where he spent time with his friends and family. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie. Connor enjoyed the time he spent restoring his tractor with his Papa. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends. He truly loved his brother and sisters and his beloved dog , "Diesel." Connor attended First Alliance Church, as a youth, and then later was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingsport, TN before returning to the Volant area. In addition to his parents and stepparents, Connor is survived by his brother, Ethan Purnell, of Allison Park, PA; 2 sisters, London and Hope Collins, of New Wilmington, PA; grandfather, Glenn Fennick; grandparents, David and Neca Collins and Joyce and David Cline; numerous aunts and uncles and several cousins. Connor was preceded in passing by his grandmother, Lynne Fennick. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 27, from 4-7 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc, 2429 Wilmington Rd. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 11:00 am at First Alliance Church on Mission Meade. A brief visitation will be held from 10-11 am at the church prior to the funeral service. Pastor John McCready will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
