D. Dale Barbour, 75, of Volant, passed away the afternoon of Jan. 10, 2013 at Sharon Regional Health System. Born May 17, 1937, in New Castle, he was the son of Carl and Margaret Leslie Barbour. Dale married Carolyn R. Stonebraker on April 6, 1957. She passed away Dec. 24, 2010. A graduate of New Castle High School, he was a retired self-employed contractor. Dale was a member of Mahoning Lodge #243 and the New Castle Consistory. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, gardening and carpentry. Survivors include two daughters, Jerri Barbour-Dohre of Hermitage and Elizabeth Myers of Volant; three sons, Scott Barbour of New Castle, Robin Barbour of New Castle, and Dale Paul Barbour of Greenville; a sister, Ilene; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.Dale was preceded in death by his parents and wife. There a no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate.
