Daniel L. Bintrim, 69, of New Castle, passed away at his residence the afternoon of Sept. 12, 2012.Born April 30, 1943 in New Castle, he was the son of Ernest R. and Alice Jean Smith Bintrim.He married Dorothy L. "Dode" McCormick Bintrim on July 31, 1965. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2012. Dan was a graduate of Shenango High School. He worked at Calgon Corporation in Ellwood City.Dan is survived by a daughter, Debbie Wiech of New Castle; a son and daughter-in law, Spike and Erin Bintrim of New Castle, a brother, John A. Bintrim of New Castle; two sisters, Myra Sickafuse of Pulaski and Amy W. McCormick of New Castle; and five grandchildren, Bucky and Beau Wiech and Austin, Braden and Cameron Bintrim.He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.Visitation and services are private. Burial is at Volant Cemetery.Arrangements are by the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
