Darlene R. Gibson, 68, of New Castle, passed away the night of May 3, 2017 at Heritage Valley, Beaver. Born May 28, 1948 in New Castle, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Hazel Hayden Matthews. She is survived by her husband of nearly forty four years, Bruce B. Gibson, whom she married May 26, 1973. She was a 1966 graduate of New Castle High School and was employed as a clerk at the former Thrift Drug. Darlene loved her cats and enjoyed collecting cars and attending car cruises. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Matthews. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place immediately following visitation at 4:00 Sunday at the funeral home with Charles Chip Chamberlain conducting the service.
