Darrell A. Houk, age 89, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 3, 2023, at St. Clair Hospital.

Born Dec. 3, 1933, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Herman and Pauline (Sheffler) Houk.

On May 14, 1960, he married his beloved wife of 62 years, Joyce J. (Locke) Houk. She preceded him in death on June 10, 2022.

Darrell faithfully served his country in the United States Army. For several years, he was employed by Ball Roofing, and more recently by LTV Steel, as a shipper, until his retirement. Darrell enjoyed doing handiwork around the house, spending time outdoors and playing cards. He was a member of First Church of God.

Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Tim) Blanton of Greenville, PA, Christy Weigel of Carnegie, PA; four grandchildren, Crystal Michlich, Michael Michlich, Carley Weigel and Kayla Weigel; two great-grandchildren, Maison Stinedurf and Leighona Michlich; and one sister, Mary Lou Vannatten.

In addition to his parents and wife, Darrell was preceded in death by one brother, Don Houk.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 19th, at 1:30 PM at First Church of God, 12 W. Euclid Ave., New Castle, PA. Pastor Bill Hunley will officiate.

Burial will be alongside his wife at Castle View Cemetery.
