Obituary

David B. Brenneman, 71, of 6 Quail Lane, New Wilmington, passed away the evening of March 8, 2013 at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born December 10, 1941, in New Castle, he was a son of Henry and Hazel McCurdy Brenneman.He is survived by his wife, Dianna Brown Brenneman whom he married May 23, 2003. He was a 1959 graduate of New Castle High School and a graduate of Westminster College. He received his teaching credits from Slippery Rock University. David was a teacher at Seneca Valley School in Attica, Ohio for 30 years. He then was a substitute teacher for 14 years with the Neshannock, Mohawk and Wilmington schools until retirement. David loved the Pittsburgh Pirates and was an avid local sports enthusiast, especially the New Castle and New Wilmington High School teams. He also enjoyed national politics. He attended First Assembly of God Church. In addition to his wife Dianna, he is survived by a step-daughter, Susan L. Dietrich of New Castle; one sister, Peggy (Harry) Rickert of Hermitage; and two step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother, Henry, and a sister, Sallie Earl. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road. A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Rev. Kenneth Meyer. Burial will be in Fair Oaks Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run, Youngstown, OH 44514.
