David R. Cooper, 55, of Vista Dr., Butler passed away the afternoon of March 19, 2014 at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.Born April 12, 1958 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Leonard L. and Marjorie M. Shaffer Cooper.David was a farmer and was also employed at Lark Enterprises in New Castle.He enjoyed farming and animals.David attended Zion Baptist Church in Slippery Rock and Princeton United Presbyterian Church.He is survived by two aunts, Norma Shaffer Michels, and Judith Shaffer, both of New Castle; and several cousins.David was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle, Thomas R. Shaffer, Sr.Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 10-11 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014. The Rev. Thomas Meling of Zion Baptist Church will officiate.Burial will be in Zion Baptist Cemetery.
