David G. Davis, 81, of 211 W. Moody Avenue, New Castle, formerly of Clarendon, PA, passed away the night of January 13, 2013 at his residence. Born August 14, 1931, in New Castle, he was a son of George and Ruth Cooper Davis. He was a graduate of Union High School and was a self-employed truck driver for 35 years, retiring in 1993. David was a member of the Masonic Lodge #365 in Corry, PA, the Consistory of Cowdersport, PA and the Eagles Club in Warren, PA. David enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by two sons, David G. Davis, Jr. of Edinburg, PA and Rodney J. Davis of Pulaski, PA; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dale J. Davis.Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013. The Rev. John Yergan will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
