David R.
Evenoski
Mar 18, 1947 — Nov 9, 2024
David R. Evenoski, age 77, of New Castle, PA, passed away the early morning of Nov. 9, 2024, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio.
Born March 18, 1947, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Walter E. and Elsie Evenoski.
On Sept. 11, 1976, he married the love of his life, Lou Ellen (Eckles) Evenoski. They were married for 48 wonderful years. She survives at home.
Dave was a 1965 graduate of Neshannock High School. He went on to further his education at Youngstown State University. Dave bravely joined the United States Navy, faithfully serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was employed by Lloyd Johnson Company, working as a salesman, until his retirement. He then went on to work at Nesbit Gun Store.
Hunting, being outdoors, and camping at his camp in Tionesta were some of his favorite hobbies. Dave was very social, always ready to tell a joke or a funny story. Over his lifetime, he found over 70 lost wallets. Dave found the owners and returned them, no matter what he had to do to get them back into the hands of the grateful owners. Above everything else in his life, he treasured the times he was able to spend with his family. Dave will always be remembered as a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa.
Along with his wife, survivors include two daughters, Carrie (Lowell) Kempf of Palm City, FL, Julie (Dan) Peles of New Castle, PA; one son, David L. Evenoski (Ashley) of New Castle, PA; one sister, Christine (John) Kwiat of Naples, FL; and two grandchildren, Gregory Kempf and Val Peles.
In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or services.
Memorial contributions may be offered to the donor's favorite charity, in Dave's honor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, where online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.cunninghamfh.com.
