David Loyal Kerr, age 75, of Ellwood City, PA, died of a heart attack on November 28, 2018, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born July 31, 1943, in Ellwood City, Pa., he was eldest son of the late Loyal and Anna Mae (McCandless) Kerr.
A graduate of Laurel High School (1961), and Navy veteran, David went on to attend Keene State College, Penn State University (BS), and the University of Nebraska (MS). Professionally, David was dedicated in his counselling and training work in youth/family services and suicide prevention. In his private time, he enjoyed golf, weight lifting, and driving sports cars. He was a member, trustee, and past deacon at Center Presbyterian Church. David loved his family, children and grandchildren, and will be missed dearly by all whose lives were touched through his philanthropic, professional, and personal life.
David is survived by his first wife; Sharon Keniston and second wife; Patricia Boyle, his two daughters; Amber Kerr of Washington, DC, Anastasia Kerr of Summerset, PA, three sons; David Kerr of Durango, CO, Michael Kerr of Austin, TX, Devon Kerr of Del Ray Beach, FL, four brothers; James Kerr, Kenneth Kerr, William Kerr, Richard Kerr, four sisters; Carol Briand, Judith Ansell, Susan Legault, Cindy Kerr, and three grandchildren; Aquene Kenerson, Riley Kerr, and Brendan Kerr.
Proceeding him in death are his parents, sister; Beverly and two brothers; Samuel and John Kerr.
In keeping with David's wishes, a memorial service will be held at Center Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, December 5th, from 5-7 PM in New Castle, PA. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Davids honor to the church or Samaritans at https://samaritanshope.org
