David B. Prosser, 63, of 2 Worthington Avenue, New Castle, passed away the night of February 8, 2011 in Jameson Hospital.Born June 17, 1947 in New Castle, he was a son of Benjamin and V. Leone Weiss Prosser. His mother survives in New Castle.He married Karen Cummings Prosser on March 13, 1971.He was a 1965 graduate of Neshannock High School and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania for four years.David was employed by the E.D. Fee Transfer Company as a warehouseman. He was formerly the assistant golf pro at the New Castle Country Club.He was a member of both the Moose Club and the Eagles Club of New Castle and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.David enjoyed golf and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Prosser of New Castle; one son, Matthew Prosser; and one brother, John Prosser of Ft. Myers, FL.He was preceded in death by his father and one sister, Ruth Dickson.The family will receive visitors Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2601 Highland Avenue, New Castle.A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. immediately following visitation at the church. The Rev. Thomas McCurdy will officiate.
