On September 5, 2021 at Jameson Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, singing her favorite songs and hymns, Delores "Dee" (Slack) Schuster went to be with the Lord.
Dee was born November 17, 1944 in New Castle to William and Margaret Slack. Dee most recently lived close to all of her family in Edinburg. She lived with her precious dog, Izzy, who was a rescue, but we want to believe Izzy rescued her.
Dee had a love of God and cherished her family. She loved music, dancing, being surrounded by loved ones and friends, playing cards, and Yahtzee.
She was a licensed beautician and admired beauty in all forms. She then worked as a quality control manager at Pak Industries, but most proudly worked as a nurse at the Shenango Home in New Wilmington until she was 65 years old, then she went to work part time at Jameson Place, where she worked until she was 70 years old, due to an injury or she would have continued to work.
Dee is survived by her 2 loving children: A son, Bruce (Denise) Pia; and a daughter, Tonya Snyder. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Taylor and Tori Snyder; a sister, Denise Keller; a brother, Darryl Slack; 2 nephews, Gregory (Miranda) Keller and Eric Stoner, and many nieces and nephews.
Her wishes were for everyone to remember her on the day you had your best memory with her. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in New Castle.
Memorial donations can be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society, http://lawrencecoutnyhumane.com/donate, in her and Izzy's honor.
