Delores L. Shaftic, age 77, passed away the evening of April 17, 2020, at her residence. Born March 1, 1943, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late David and Florence (Martin) Rhodes. She married Donald Shaftic, Sr., who preceded her in death. Delores was a graduate of New Castle High School. She worked for UPMC Jameson Hospital in the housekeeping department. Delores enjoyed crocheting, baking, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She was of the Methodist faith. Delores is survived by her daughter, Crystal Kassi of New Castle; her son, Donald (Tammee) Shaftic, Jr., of New Castle; two brothers, David Rhodes of California, Randy Rhodes of Texas; one sister, Janet Bogus of Washington; five grandchildren, Jason Burkett, Megan (Vince) Buckel, Austin (Brittany) Kassi, Christian (Haylee) Kassi, and Brett Kassi; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Kassi and Cheyenne Buckel and her life long friend, Carol Morrison In addition to her parents and husband, Delores was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Shaftic; two grandchildren, Joseph, and Joshua Shaftic; one great-grandson, Hunter Buckel; two sisters, Shirley Deli and Connie Feeney; and one brother, Gene Rhodes.
