Deloris L. Dorr, 78, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of May 23, 2011 at Jameson Hospital.She was born January 7, 1933, in New Castle, to the late Floyd L. and Margaret L. Smith Morris. Deloris attended Walmo School and New Castle High School. She married Edwin Dorr on September 14, 1954. They were married for over 46 years. He preceded her in death on March 9, 2001. Deloris worked for May's Donuts as a clerk. She also worked for Troutmann's Department store as a sales clerk, Neshannock School District as a playground monitor, and Lawrence County Election Board. She enjoyed music and spending time with her family. Deloris was a member of Wayside Emmanuel Church, where she played the organ and directed the choir. In addition, she served the church as the president of the Women's Missionary Board, a deaconess, was active in the church plays, and she could always be found in the church kitchen for various functions. Deloris enjoyed spending time with her church family.Survivors include three sons, William E. Dorr, and wife, Pat, Robert F. Dorr, and wife, Terri, and David E. Dorr, and wife, Nadine, all of New Castle; a sister, Verna Graham, of Allison Park, PA; eight grandchildren, Bryan, and his wife, Abby, Michael,and his fiance Kelsie, Tricia, Scott, Stephen,and his wife Samantha, Kylee, Valerie, and Katie; and three great-grandchildren, Emma Jean, Skyler, and Tyler.She will be sadly missed by a brother-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Dorr, and three brothers, Gerald, Arnold, and Kenny Morris.Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011, at R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the funeral home. Pastor Randy Crum of Wayside Emmanuel Church and Pastor Frank Martin with The World Gospel Mission will be officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made in Deloris' honor to the Wayside Emmanuel Church, 4437 Mitchell Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
