Diane L. Klingensmith, 87, of New Castle, passed away the morning of November 19, 2019 at Quality Life Services.
Born April 4, 1932 in Ogden, Utah, she was the daughter of Fred Sorensen and Wilma (Van Koman) Sorensen Williams.
Diane was preceded in death on May 24, 2008 by her husband of 57 years, Ronald L. Klingensmith, whom she married October 14, 1950.
A 1950 graduate of New Castle High School, she was the cafeteria food director for the Neshannock Schools for 27 years.
Diane enjoyed reading, crocheting and working Seek-A-Word puzzles. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served as a former Relief Society President and primary teacher.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Stoner of New Castle and Kim Tutino of Louisville, Ohio; one son, Ben Klingensmith of Clintonville, PA; two sisters, Joyce Boley of Vancouver, Washington and Ellie Pezzuti of Lynn Haven, Florida; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, from 5:00-8:00pm and Friday from 10:00-11:00 at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Friday at 11:00 at the funeral home with Bishop Seth Schmid officiating.
Diane will be laid to rest beside her husband in Castle View Cemetery.
