Diann Martin, age 78, of New Wilmington, passed away the afternoon of July 26, 2024, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.

Born December 1, 1945, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Harry W. and Ruth L. (Sumner) Bartholemew.

She was preceded in death on February 10, 2011, by her husband of 46 years, P. Leslie Martin, whom she married January 2, 1965.

A 1963 graduate of Union High School, she was employed as a receptionist for various establishments including the New Bedford Elementary School, Washington Centre Physical Therapy and Mohawk Physical Therapy until her retirement.

A member of the Rapid Tappets Car Club, she also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family as well as her church family of Washington Union Alliance Church, and with her pets.

She is survived by one son, Jon (Bethany) Martin of Stoneboro, PA and three grandchildren, Brennan Devite, John Kocher and Mackenzie Kocher.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, William Leslie Martin; one brother, Alfred Umstead; and two sisters, Marlene Crist and Claudia Wimer; and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Martin.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 30, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Warren Sullivan officiating.

She will be laid to rest by her husband in Graceland Cemetery.
