Dick L. Kroesen, 82, of Pulaski, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at Jameson Hospital.Born August 19, 1931, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Ralph and Marie Kroesen. He married Marie A. Adams on June 7, 1969. Dick was a 1949 graduate of Shenango High School, where he played football and baseball. He worked as a crane operator for LTV Steel in Youngstown for 33 years. He served in the Army as a crane shovel operator and obtained the rank of Corporal.Dick was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan. He loved watching sports on television and would read the sports page everyday. He enjoyed bowling and bowled in a men's league at Shenango Bowl Away. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Tracy Lynn (Joseph Jr.) Wilkins of Pulaski; a son, Ricky Leroy (Rochelle) Kroesen of New Castle; a brother, Don Kroesen of Edinburg; and a sister Gloria Young of Bessemer; and six grandchildren , Alexis, Aleah, Timmy, Zachary, Jade, and Gavin.Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Virginia Anderson and Jean Savage, and three brothers, Lyle, Ralph, and Eddie Kroesen.Visitation will be Tuesday, August 5, 2014, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham funeral Home and Crematory, 2429 Wilmington Rd., New Castle. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August, 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. John Yergan officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
