Donald L. Dover, age 91, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 12, 2022, at Avalon Place, in New Castle. Born Jan. 17, 1931, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Leo and Orpha (Bateman) Dover. On July 26, 1986, he married his beloved wife of 35 years, Gretchen (Heasley) Eppinger Dover. She survives at home. For 20 years, Donald worked at Sears Auto Center, as a mechanic, until his retirement. He enjoyed being in the outdoors, riding his bike and walking. He also enjoyed playing bingo, shuffleboard, and tropical fish aquariums. Donald loved the time he spent with his family and his faithful dog, "Charley". He attended Eastbrook Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, Donald is survived by four daughters, Leslie Gail Kumrow, Karen DiCampello, Beth Dover and Dawn Dover, all of New Castle, PA; two sons, Gary (Beverly) Dover of Dickson, TN, Mark (Karen) Dover of New Castle, PA; his stepchildren, James Eppinger of Sarasota, FL, Fred (Patty) Eppinger of New Castle, PA, William (Bonny) Eppinger, of Cranberry Twp., PA and Terry (Roy) Litzenberg of New Castle, PA; 12 grandchildren and 11 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 12 great-step-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, former wife Betty Bixler, brother, Leo Dover, sons-in-law, Larry Kumrow, Sloan DiCampello, and Sam DeStefano, and grandson, Mark DiCampello.
