Donald B. Grove, Sr., age 95, formerly of Harlansburg Road, passed away at his residence in North Jackson, Ohio the afternoon of May 28, 2018.
Born November 20, 1922 in Butler, Pa, he was the son of Dalton and Jessie Kramer Grove.
He was preceded in death on November 11, 2010 by his beloved wife of 62 years, Kathryn E. Bridenbaugh Grove, whom he married on January 23, 1948.
Donald served his country during WWII as a Private First Class in the Army Air Corps. He was employed as a mill right with Republic Steel until his retirement.
A member of Castlewood Rod & Gun Club, Don enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also liked watching TV and reading and was a former Boy Scout Leader and member of the VFW.
He is survived by three daughters, Janis (Raymond) Baker of Como, MS, Kathy (Tony) Kutsko with whom he made his home in North Jackson, and Patricia (Chris) Kennedy of Ellwood City; one son, Donald (Linda) Grove, Jr. of Warren, PA; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one son, Keith E. Grove; a great-grandson, Carter James Druschel; 3 brothers, Dalton, Bill and Albert Grove; and two sisters, Kathryne Zeigler and Evelyn Hobel.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00-6:00 pm at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. Military rites will be performed at 4:00 by the New Castle Area Honor Guard at the beginning of visitation.
A funeral service will take place at the conclusion of visitation at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Father Dave Merzweiler of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish officiating.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
