Donald E. Harrison, 82, of New Castle, passed away September 11, 2016 at his residence. Born on July 25, 1934, he was a son of Edward S. and Margaret Magee Harrison. A 1952 graduate of New Castle High School, he served in the US Army from 1955-58. He retired in 1995, after working at Keystone Welding Supply as the general manager for thirty-three years. Donald was a Scottish Rite 32nd Degree Mason, a past Master (1977) of the Lodge of the Craft #433, a member of Syria Shriners in Pittsburgh and secretary/treasurer of the Lawrence Caravan #15. A former member of Second UP Church, he served as a deacon, elder and Clerk of Session. He also served as an elder at Center Presbyterian Church, where he was a member. He is survived by one sister, Beryl Hogue of New Castle. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Richard, Herbert and Robert and Edward Harrison; and one sister, Alberta Shelar. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at R. Cunningham Funeral Home, 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. Dr. James Bibza officiating. New Castle Area Honor Guard will perform a full military service at 11 AM Wednesday. Interment will be at Carpenter Cemetery in Mercer.
