Obituary

Donald L. Headings, 91, of New Castle, passed away the morning of March 14, 2011, at the Overlook Medical Clinic, New Wilmington.Born October 4, 1919, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Wallace and Bertha Robinson Headings. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1938. Donald married Helen Urmson Headings on September 2, 1940. She preceded him in death on October 27, 2004. He was a veteran who served in World War II as a fireman First Class. Donald retired in 1984 from owning and operating Motive Parts of New Castle. He was a member of Highland U.P. Church. He served in the church as an elder and deacon. Donald also was a member of the Walmo Lion's Club serving as King Lion for a time.He is survived by his daughters, Bette Jo Miller, and her husband, Wallace of Orlando, FL, and Dona Browne, of Corona, CA; two grandsons, Douglas Miller, of Mason, OH, and Donald Nishioka, of Chino, CA; a great grandson, Eric Miller, of Mason, OH; and two great granddaughters, Abby Miller, of Mason, OH, and Samantha Nishioka, of Chino, CA.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Headings; a sister, Marian Headings; a great grandson, Jeffery Miller; and a son-in-law, David Browne.Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.A private funeral service will immediately follow. The Rev.
