Donald Leroy Higgins, age 90, of New Castle, passed away on April 18, 2021, at his residence. Born Sept. 8, 1930 in Meadville, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Harrietta (Calvin) Higgins. He married Karna Joy (Drake) Higgins, who preceded him in death on July 1, 2014. Mr. Higgins was a graduate of New Castle High School. He faithfully served his country in the United States Navy. Donald worked for IBM as a service repairman, until his retirement. What gave him the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. He was a member of Calvary Independent Church. Donald is survived by two daughters, Barbara (Joel) Woods of Lorain OH, Carolyn (Kevin) Ging of Beaver, PA; two sisters, Margaret Evelyn Rasey of New Castle, PA and Betty (Ed) Chandler of Warren, OH; four grandchildren, Heather Underhill, Joel Woods, Joshua Ging and Jessica Ging; and seven great grandchildren Noah Underhill, Zoe Underhill, Selah Underhill, Daylyn Woods, Hazel Woods, Mabel Woods and Oliver Basch. In addition to his parents and wife, Donald was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Higgins. Private services were held at the R.
