Donald L. Parshall, 81, formerly of New Castle, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2023, in New Wilmington.
Born December 14, 1941, in New Castle, he was the son of Wayne and Genevieve (Schallenberger) Parshall.
Donald is survived by his wife of 26 years, Barbara C. (Malis) Stepp Parshall, whom he married June 28, 1997.
After attending Shenango High School, Don was an owner/operator of DART Transit in Eagan, Minnesota, receiving numerous commendations for his outstanding contribution to professionalism in protecting the American public.
Don was introduced to Jesus Christ by a friend many years ago and became a born-again Christian. Striving to serve his Savior, he was able to travel to Brazil, Honduras and Jamaica on six mission trips and was involved with Transport for Christ. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he attended the TFO Sunday school class and Sparklers Bible Study.
A member of the CFU (Croation Fraternal Union), Don enjoyed woodworking, studying his Bible and being a handyman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Kelley (John) Alberti of New Castle; two sons, Donald (Tammie) Parshall of Woodbridge, Virginia and Daniel (Lori) Parshall of Wampum; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and his first wife, Shirley Weingartner Parshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and Ronald Parshall; and a granddaughter, Kristina Parshall
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, September 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Yergan officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, 984 W. Maitland Lane, New Castle, PA 16105.
