Donald Henry Sumner, age 65, of Orlando, FL, passed away the morning of Nov. 14, 2019 at Advent Health East Orlando. Born Sept. 16, 1954, in New Castle, Pa., he was the son of David R. and Ann C. (Hammerschmidt) Sumner. He married Terri (Birch) Sumner on December 31, 1992. She survives at home. Donald was a 1972 graduate of Neshannock High School and attended Westminster College. He was a supervisor for Mears Transportation, located in Orlando, FL. He attended Hoover Heights Church and loved to hunt and golf. What gave Donald the most joy in life, was spending time with his family. Along with his wife, Terri, Donald is survived by his mother, Ann C. Sumner of New Castle, Pa; one son, Stephen Sumner of Arizona; two brothers, Randall (Jan) Sumner of New Castle, Pa, Alan (Linda) Sumner of Beaver Falls, Pa; two granddaughters; eight nieces and nephews; fifteen great-nieces and great-nephews and a godson, Eli Walker. He was preceded in death by his father, David R. Sumner. Visitation will be held on Wed. Nov. 20th 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Thurs. Nov. 21st from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately following visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Larry F. Llewellyn of Hoover Heights CMA Church officiating. Burial will be at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
