Donald R. Willis, 89, of West Middlesex, PA, passed away on March 4th, 2022, at Quality Life Services of New Castle.
Donald was born on March 30, 1932, to the late Frank and Mary Willis (Dudzensky). He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Shirley, in 2020. They were married 67 years.
Don was a graduate of New Castle High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1961. He spent two years of his service in Korea.
He enjoyed following current events and politics closely. He was very knowledgeable of Russian history, which is his ancestry. He enjoyed spending time with family, gardening, fishing and playing pool in his younger years. He was a fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Don worked for the Youngstown Sheet & Tube and retired from the CSX Railroad.
Don is survived by three daughters, Debora Bishop of Boardman, Ohio, Karen (Stephen) Esposito of Slippery Rock Twp. and Melanie (Jeff) Miller of New Wilmington; two sons, Gordon (Abby) Willis of Goodview, VA and Brant (Sharon) Willis of New Wilmington; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by brothers, Steven and John; sisters, Mary Archibald, May Willis, Sonia Willis, Ann Gamble, Lydia Kennedy and Helen Rivers; a son, Bruce G. Willis; and grandson, Bruce Willis, Jr.
There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
